Amid the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, tickets for the flight numbered VN417 are not available on the airline’s website, but only at its ticket offices and agents in Vietnam or South Korea.
National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is scheduled to operate a flight from Seoul in South Korea to Hanoi on Friday
The flight will use an Airbus A350 with over 300 seats.
The national carrier received approval for the flight operation on Tuesday. The airline has finished its preparations for the flight.
Passengers must have negative Covid-19 test results using the RT-PCR method within the previous three days. They also need to show quarantine registration papers in Vietnam and install Bluezone, a Bluetooth-based app that can help define whether a person has had close contact with a Covid-19 case or not.
The whole crew will be quarantined right after returning to Vietnam. Meanwhile, the sterilisation will be carried out for the aeroplane.
Last Saturday, Vietnam Airlines provided a Hanoi-Tokyo flight, becoming Vietnam's first routine outbound commercial flight following the suspension of more than six months because of the pandemic.
Vietnam Airlines and budget airline VietJet Air have registered with the aviation authority to conduct more international air routes from September 21 however, as authorities have not fully fleshed out screenings, entry and quarantine protocols, the flights have not been implemented.
