The Blue Sky Air airline will have their license revoked for failing to operate over the past 10 years.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has just proposed to the Ministry of Transport to cancel the general aviation business license of Blue Sky Air JSC as the firm has yet to operate flights for 10 years since being licensed.

According to CAAV, they granted a general aviation business license to Blue Sky on June 8, 2010. Blue Sky Air registered to operate helicopters and seaplanes at 20 domestic tourism destinations. However, the firm has failed to obtain an Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC), an approval to use aircraft for commercial purposes.

In line with the Government’s Decree 89/2019 on the aviation business, the general aviation business license of a firm will be canceled if the firm fails to get an AOC within three years from the date of issuance of the license.

The decree also regulates the Ministry of Transport has jurisdiction over the revocation of a license in this case and the firm which owns the revoked license must suspend the operation of its aviation business.

By the end of September 2020, six firms have been granted the general aviation business license of which four are already operating including Vietstar Airlines Multirole Corporation, Hai Au Aviation, Green Planet Aviation Company, and Vietnam Helicopter Corporation.
