Many shopping malls in HCM City are crowded as the Lunar New Year nears.

It is easy to see people queuing up at fashion and cosmetics shops at the city’s largest local shopping malls such as Vincom, Van Hanh and Aeon.

Phuong Uyen from Binh Tan District said that she had to queue for 15 minutes to enter a fashion shop. Then, it was too overcrowded so she couldn’t wait to use the changing room. It also took quite a long time to queue at the checkout, Uyen added.

Customers are asked to make health declarations and take temperature checks.

According to Thu Ha from District 4 this year, her family stayed in HCM City for Tet, instead of returning to their hometown as usual. So they have visited shopping malls to enjoy the Tet atmosphere.

Customers at restaurants are also requested to ensure Covid-19 prevention regulations.
