The daily life of an average middle class family in colonial Vietnam will be put the focus of an exhibit at a house located at 87 Ma May Street on the occasion of the 60th Liberation day.
The house was built around 1890 in an architectural style typical of that time. The two-storey house has a small garden in the middle for air and natural light. It is built mostly of wood and features an array of decorative reliefs.
The house will be redecorated to evoke old Hanoi as a part of the 60th Liberation Day celebrations. The members of a typical Vietnamese family living in the colonial period will be part of the exhibit.
The kitchen will be refurbished and tourists will have a chance to enjoy local foods there if they book in advance.
