Hanoi gets helicopter taxi service
Travellers in Hanoi can now enjoy new air services to
famous destinations, offered by the State-owned Northern Vietnam
Helicopter Company.
Flights to popular sites such as Halong Bay (Quang Ninh province), Sapa (Lao Cai province), Trang An and Bai Dinh (Ninh Binh province), and Mai Chau and the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant (Hoa Binh province), at $2,640 an hour for a group of six to seven people.
This is the first time a commercial helicopter service has been introduced in Vietnam’s tourism sector, where it was previously limited to the oil and gas industry, according to the company.
Last August, private carrier Hai Au Aviation launched a seaplane service between Hanoi and Halong Bay, charging each passenger VND5 million ($235) for the 25-minute flight.
