Tea culture to be promoted at Da Lat Flower Festival
The Lam Dong tea and silk product week will be featured at the Da Lat Flower Festival 2017, which is scheduled to take place on December 23-27.
This is the first time the week has been included in the Da Lat Flower Festival.
The tea and silk production week will be held in Bao Loc City with many activities such as a tea-picking competition, silk fashion show and forums on tea development.
This will be a chance for visitors to see the display of silk product collections and see tea growing areas of local farms.
Bao Loc City is now home to 7,716 hectares of tea, accounting for 32% of the province’s total tea area. The city’s silk products have been exported to many countries such as Japan, the US, India and China as well as many European countries.
This year is the 7th Dalat Flower Festival with its title Flowers of Dalat – Miracle of Nature. Its activities will be held across Lam Dong Province, including Da Lat and Bao Loc cities and some other local areas.
A variety of beautiful flowers will be displayed around Xuan Huong Lake, recreational parks, tourist sites and residential areas in the city. Businesses from the Netherlands, Japan and South Korea will join the flower festival.
The opening ceremony of the flower festival is slated for 8 pm on December 23 at Lam Vien Square in the centre of Dalat City. The 6th flower festival in 2015 attracted more than 500,000 visitors.
