Vietnam’s first glass-bottomed suspension bridge with 5D effects opened to visitors in Son La Province on April 25.

The transparent pedestrian bridge is built over the Dai Yem waterfall tourist attraction in mountainous Moc Chau District with world’s state-of-the-art 5D technology with 30 special effects and a photoelectric sensor system, according to the developer, Pha Luong Company.

On April 25, thousands of visitors arrived to get the experience of the bridge which is 80 metres long, two meters wide, and 20 metres high.

A visitor from Hanoi, Nguyen Huong Giang said that it was the first time she had walked on this kind of bridge and she was a bit frightened but then found it really fun.

"I've always wanted to try the experience after hearing about this bridge in other countries," Giang said. "Now I can try it here. It's really fun."

According to Nguyen Manh Cuong, director of the project, they received some 30,000 visitors on the opening day.

"Besides ensuring safety for visitors, we also try to bring them the most comfortable moments," Cuong said. "We allow just 100 people on the bridge at a time and provide free wifi so that they can take photos, videos or live stream easily."

The bridge, called ‘Love Glass Bridge,’ has ten towering heart-shaped structures on a pillar with ten lotus petals at their bottom.

The 5D effects include nerve-jangling glass cracking, heart forming, flower opening and fish swimming.

The investor said they expected to welcome more visitors during the coming Reunification Day and Labour Day Holiday.
