Representatives from Hanoi, HCM City, Ninh Binh Province and the Mekong Delta localities and particularly those from some provinces of Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and South Korea have also been invited to participate in the week.

At the launching ceremony, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that Ca Mau is home to many festivals such as Nghinh Ong, Via Ba Thien Hau and the New Year celebration Chol Chnam Thmay of ethnic minority people Khmer along with a range of products from famous handicraft villages, including Tan Thanh rush mats and Rach Goc dried shrimp.

Various activities will be held at the week

The province has a 254-km coastline, U Minh Ha National Park and the Mui Ca Mau Biosphere Reserve, creating favourable conditions for eco-tourism development.

Last year, Ca Ma welcomed more than 1.24 million tourists up 17% on-year. This year, the figure is expected to reach 1.7 million, the government leader added.

According to the PM, the Ca Mau Tourism and Culture Week is a good opportunity for the province to promote its image.

A Hanoi flag pole in Ca Mau was inaugurated at the event. The flag pole was a present from Hanoi’s authorities and people to the southernmost locality, representing national unity, the PM emphasised.
