An exhibition on August 26 introduces the city's history and development.

The park was closed for the construction of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line near HCM City Opera House. After the contractors returned the land, the city authorities repaired and upgraded the park.

The park is the connecting space between the Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street and the Opera House. It is also a popular venue for cultural and social events.

On the same day, HCM City authorities also opened an exhibition with 100 photos to introduce the city's history and development including the August Revolution in 1945 which is the stepping stone for the reunification day in 1975. The exhibition is one of the events to celebrate National Day on September 2.

Vu Trong Sung, vice head of the District 4 Veteran Association said, "I saw the photos of the old times and how the city has changed today. I feel proud of everyone who has contributed to today’s independence and development."
