Many streets in HCM City have become more colourful when the Mid-Autumn is nearing.

Luong Nhu Hoc Street in District 5 which is famous for Mid-Autumn lanterns attracts many customers, particularly on weekends.

Every year, the lanterns are usually sold on the street since the beginning of the seventh lunar month. This is also a popular destination for many people in HCM City on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The street is home to various kinds of lanterns, ranging from traditional to modern electronic. This year, traditional lanterns have continued dominating the Vietnamese market.

Lots of children visit the street, while young people pose for photos.

Thach Thi Phung, a lantern trader, said that most of the traders on the street had reduced the quantity of lanterns this year by around 30-40% on-year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They are worried about the risk of social distancing if the pandemic resurfaces.
