Hoi An town in the central province of Quang Nam has resumed the operation of pedestrian streets, night markets as well as craft villages after the long suspension due to Covid-19 and floods.

Tickets to Hoi An’s old town will be half-price from November 18 to the end of June next year.

Other local tourist sites, hotels and restaurants have also launched appealing promotional programmes to attract visitors.

Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, director of Hoi An City’s Culture and Sports Centre, said that the locality’s tourism services have been adversely hit by Covid-19 and storm-driven floods.

So the reopening of pedestrian streets, night markets and craft villages are expected to warm up the tourism industry in the city.

Many art performances will be held on local streets in the evening, Cam noted.

Hoi An, one of the most popular tourist sites in the central region of Vietnam, halted all tourism activities in late July due to the second wave of Covid-19.

The town is home to well-known traditional craft villages such as the Thanh Ha pottery village and the Tra Que vegetable village.
