Tourists flock to Sapa on April 30
Organisers say visitors will enjoy special music shows performed by artists from the provincial art delegation and ethnic artists from highland villages in Sapa District.
The opening event ended with a fireworks display, a first for the highland town.

A “Cloudy Festival” is being held May 1 on Ham Rong Mountain, 2,000m above sea level.
On the same day, Cat Cat Travel Company in coordination with San Sa Ho communal People’s Committee organized the “Mong Cat Cat Highlands Village Culture Festival” to showcase traditional culture of the Mong ethnic minority.
Pyrotechnic displays
A “Farming with Sapa Farmers” tour will take place May 2 in Ta Phin Commune, offering visitors, especially foreigners, a chance to learn about farming methods in the highlands villages.
They can also learn how to find herbal medicines in the forests based, on the experience of the Dao Do ethnic minority group.
More than 50,000 visitors are expected in Sapa during the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays, with numbers boosted by the opening of the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway.
