Hue, Danang, and Quang Nam in central Vietnam have greeted an increasing number of visitors during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

The Hue imperial citadel is packed with visitors

Doan Minh Phung of Hanoi, who chose Hue for a vacation with his family, said: “We’ve been longing for a trip to Hue for a long time to learn more about the history of the Nguyen dynasty. Today we visited ‘Ngo Mon’ (Noon Gate) and the Hue imperial citadel, where we enjoyed quality services free of charge.”

A wide range of festive, art, and sports activities highlighting Vietnamese culture have taken place along the two banks of Hue city’s Perfume River. Tourist Doan Dinh Thang said: “The Hue ancient capital is one of major historical relics in Vietnam. I visit Hue during Tet as a way to remember our roots. The relics are majestic and have been well preserved.”

The Hoi An ancient town and My Son sanctuary in Quang Nam province are also packed with travelers. Phan Ho, Director of the Management Board at My Son sanctuary, said: “My Son sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the New Year holiday, we have improved the quality of art performances and transport within the site. We hope visitors are pleased with our services.”

Danang authorities estimated that the city attracted nearly 330,000 visitors in the first 3 days of the lunar year, 10% higher than the same period last year.
