Vieng Market is held only on the midnight of the 7th day of the lunar year which fell on February 11 and lasted only through the morning of the 8th day. Legend says that the midnight is the time for Goddess Lieu Hanh’s soul to appear so she could hear people’s wishes.

Different kinds of goods sold at the market
Most of the sellers are from locals. They sell their goods not only for money but also for looking for luck. People prefer buying cheap products rather than expensive ones.
