3.3m foreign tourists visit Hanoi in H1
Hanoi welcomed 3.3 million international tourists in the first six months of 2019, an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period last year.
The Department of Tourism expects to welcome 28.58 million tourists in 2019 including 6.68 million international tourists. It has set the goal to reach VND87.78bn (USD3.8m) in revenue this year and a 60-65% occupancy rate at hotels and guesthouses.
In order to promote the city, Hanoi People's Committee has signed a memorandum of understanding on co-operation with the CNN channel to introduce the culture, history and people of the capital city.
The Department of Tourism is also worked with Vietnam Airlines to welcome delegations from Japan on June 19 study the tourism market and new products. 26 tour agents from Japan and many Vietnamese firms participated in the annual event.
The Japanese firms surveyed famous destinations in Hanoi and Ninh Binh Province.
