Tourists will have a chance to see Japanese cherry blossoms when visiting Sapa in the northern province of Lao Cai.

The Japanese cherry blossoms were presented by the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association on the occasion of 100th anniversary of its establishment in 2003. The cherry trees have blossomed annually since 2007.

They were first grown in the campus of Sapa District People's Committee, Ham Rong tourism site and then gradually brought to other areas, including Hoang Lien Son National Park, the central area of the town, hotels, and local households.

They prove a popular backdrop for people’s photos.
