Many people floated lanterns on Sai Gon River on the evening of the 15th of the first month of the lunar year or the 1st full-moon festival.
The event was held at Dieu Phap Pagoda located by Saigon River on March 2.
At around 8 pm, flows of people flocked to the pagoda for floating lanterns.
Nguyen Van Tu in Go Vap District, HCM City, said that on this occasion every year, he attends the lantern floating ceremony to send his wishes for good health and luck for his family.

Dieu Phap Pagoda often holds lantern floating ceremonies on the 15th of the first month, 4th month and 7th month of the lunar year.
