Folk painting exhibition opens at Temple of Literature

An exhibition of Vietnam’s folk paintings and their application in life has been opened at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi.

The event which is slated to end on November 10 is being held by Hanoi Ceramic Museum. It displays 50 works in the Kim Hoang, Hang Trong, Dong Ho and Kinh painting genres.

The exhibits were selected from 300 entries submitted to Kim Hoang Folk Painting contest for children, which was launched by the Hanoi Ceramic Museum in June 2018.

The entries included more than 200 paintings, nearly 30 fashion designs, and 45 designs for postcards, handbags and scarfs.

The opening ceremony of the event included a fashion show introducing 27 impressive costumes inspired by Kim Hoang paintings.

A range of activities will be held during the event to introduce and promote Kim Hoang folk paintings.
