Temple of Literature attracts 2 million visitors in 2019

The Temple of Literature in Hanoi welcomed 2 million visitors in 2019, bringing in total revenues of VND45.7 billion (USD1.98 million).

In the year, roughly 40 events were held at the Temple of Literature, including eight exhibitions on Vietnamese culture and heritage and six forums on great men of culture.

Many activities lured a large number of visitors to the site such as the National Cultural Heritage Day and calligraphy festival before the Lunar New Year 2019.

The Culture - Science Activity Centre of Temple of Literature also put into operation the heritage education experience room which served 1,200 students.

Environmentally-friendly dustbins and automatic water filling machines are installed at the site to limit the use of plastic water bottles.

Director of the centre Le Xuan Kien said that this year the agency will focus on upgrading works such as Khue Van Cac and Kim Chau Mound.

In 2019, Hanoi attracted nearly 29 million tourists, including more than seven foreigners, up 17% on-year. The city’s tourism revenues were estimated at VND103.8 trillion, up 34% on-year.
