Government gives priority to training nuclear energy experts

The Vietnamese Government will give priority to training experts for nuclear power plant projects that have been approved by the National Assembly and the Government, said Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 30.

The Deputy PM also asked relevant agencies to involve all available supports, international relations, especially skilled Vietnamese experts in training human resources for the Vietnamese nuclear power plants.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) should draw human resources policy for the nuclear power plants and outline a training plan, in which human resources in the nuclear energy will be sent to train in nuclear-energy countries, the Deputy PM said.

The nation’s first two nuclear power plants will be constructed in the central province of Ninh Thuan, at a cost of VND200 trillion (approx. USD9.7 billion). The first plant will be located in the Phuoc Dinh commune of Thuan Nam district and the other one will be positioned in Vinh Hai commune of Ninh Hai district.
