Hanoi appoints youngest university dean in Vietnam

Hanoi authorities have decided to appoint Dr. Dam Quang Minh, 35, as dean of FPT University.

The decision,  made upon the suggestion of the FPT Group Board of Directors and FPT University, makes Minh the youngest dean in Vietnam.

The appointment is part of the FPT’s decision to bring new blood into the group’s leadership, made in mid-March. Minh took his post right from the beginning of September.

It is hoped that the move will help develop FPT University into one of the country's leading educational institutions.

Dr. Minh has 13 years experience in education. He has held several important administrative posts, including director of FPT Polytechnic Vietnam College and deputy director of the FPT International Training Institute.

He has also acted as managing director of Institute of American Education and director of Germany's Moskito-GIS office in Vietnam.

Minh was awarded a PhD in earth sciences from the University of Greifswald in Germany in 2007. He graduated from the Vietnam National University Hanoi’s Natural Sciences department in 2001.
