Professor Ngo Bao Chau has launched a science club at the Tuan Chau tourist area in Quang Ninh Province’s Ha Long Bay with the hope of it become a young scientist incubator, a dream that he has long cherished.

‘Lofty dreams’ and ‘loyal friendship’

The building that houses the club located at BT 41 villas, waterfront Nam Tuan Chau. Villa was a gift from Dao Hong Tuyen - Chairman Tuan Chau, which was donated with the understanding it would be used for the club and other community uses.

Professor Ngo Bao Chau’s hope is that it will develop into a place for young scientists to interact with leading national and international scientists. At the same time, he wants it to become a place where students can learn to flap their wings and fly.

"Children grow up, primarily because of family education and school. But a club like this can provide an environment that helps them shape their personality and natural abilities.  It also gives them a place to develop lifelong friendships that instils cohesiveness.”

“A civilized society advances people with talent and they are the glue that binds society together", Professor Chau said.

He also said that to advance civilized society and development, the country must have talent. But talent first must launches from lofty dreams, friendship and loyalty that are not natural, but need to be nurtured from the experiences of life.

Through experience, one can share passions and through the sharing of passions big miraculous dreams and faithful friendships will blossom.

Responsibility for future generations of the country
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, former General Director of FPT - said he was very supportive of the project of Professor Ngo Bao Chau, and had always insisted on trying to create the best conditions for the future generations of talent.

Nam said in his generation, childhoood was the nursery favoured, creating the best conditions to develop capabilities. And now, the responsibility of the "Preschool talent" someday finds a way to develop the talents of future generations.

"The main dish of the nursery for your child is love", Professor Ngo Bao Chau confirmed - "For a civilized society to progress we need talented young adults" Professor Ngo Bao Chau shared.
"I think one thing for young Vietnamese to learn and practice is how to live and organise their lives. Many times, due to cultural tradition, children are often psychologically passive, waiting for the teacher or parents to guide them to do something, such as striving for good grades."

“Teaching the young how to use passion as a self-motivator is the hope of the club," Professor Ngo Bao Chau said.

Former General Director of FPT, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam shares Chau’s opinion, "The model we propose is a club, with the participation of students and staff who lead the crowd. However, along with these conditions, I want to send them a message, regardless of the public favour; their journey to success will be extremely difficult."

“They must demonstrate their personal qualities; find themselves a path to advance science and advance technology in the world" Nam concluded.
