Ha Noi will honour 98 outstanding students who achieved top results in the city's university and academy graduation exams, .

A ceremony honouring Ha Noi City's outstanding students was held at the Temple of Literature last year.

Ha Noi Youth Union deputy secretary Tran Anh Tuan said a new regulation fixed the limited number of outstanding students each year to 100 from .

This year, 98 outstanding students have been selected from a short list of 115 candidates from 67 universities and colleges in the city.

Among the 98 outstanding students, forty per cent come from universities. Eleven of them are from underprivileged families.

Tuan said all outstanding students have been welcomed to work at State offices located in the city. This year, through a Youth Union's survey, 68 of the 98 students have expressed their willingness to work at State offices.

For 13 years now, the event has been held annually honouring a total of 1,335 outstanding students.

The event to extend such an honour is aimed at encouraging students to enrich themselves with knowledge and make further contributions to society.
