Three three-day exams started with a 120-minute literature test in the morning and a 90-minute maths test in the afternoon. On June 26, students will complete the examinations for natural science (150 minutes) and foreign language (60 minutes). The exams will end on June 27 morning with a 150-minute test for social sciences.

The results of these final exams will be used for high school graduation and university entrance consideration. Statistics from the ministry showed that nearly 30 per cent of students did not register to apply for any colleges.

On June 24, Minister of Education and Training, Phung Xuan Nha came to check the preparation work at two exams venues in Hanoi's Hoai Duc District.

The minister has also reminded education departments nation-wide of the cheating scandal in the 2018 national exams and requested all staff to address violations.

"We’ll give strict punishment to any staff who violate the rules of the exams," he stressed.
