FLC University to open with 14 departments
FLC Group held an inauguration ceremony for FLC University in Quang Ninh on August 25.
The non-profit private university gained prime ministerial approval on June 3. FLC University will cover 50 hectares across Ha Tu, Ha Trung, Ha Phong wards for 14,000 students. The estimated cost is over VND3.8trn (USD165m). With the advice from reputable design team from Australia, FLC Group aims to build a university with modern technology and infrastructure such as a library that allows e-learning and dormitory for 1,000 students.
They will focus on high technology, tourism and aviation departments. During the first semester, the university will recruit 600 students in 2020, 6,100 students in 2024 and 10,000 students in 2035.
Nguyen Van Thang, chairman of Quang Ninh Province said, a university that meets international standards like FLC will help improve the education sector and quality of human resources in Quang Ninh and nearby provinces.
Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha said FLC University project is one of the highlights of the sector and asked the investors to carefully prepare the infrastructure, lecturers and curriculum.
