Phenikaa Group launches university and innovation foundation

The A&A Green Phoenix Group JSC (Phenikaa Group) officially launched the Phenikaa University and the Phenikaa Innovation Foundation on November 26, with initial investment of VND1 trillion ($43.48 million) from the group’s after-tax profit.

The launch marks the official introduction of Phenikaa’s ecosystem, with three main pillars: Enterprise - Education and Training - Scientific Research, for the purpose of sustainable development and demonstrates its commitment to contributing to the cause of human resources training for society, the development of Vietnamese talent and intelligence, and the creation of breakthrough scientific and technological research achievements for the country’s development.

Attending the launch were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Cong Tac, and university leaders and scientists.

“With a responsibility towards the country’s development, the Phenikaa Group decided to sponsor investments in the field of education and scientific and technological development for non-profit purposes,” said Chairman Mr. Ho Xuan Nang. “With the launch of the Phenikaa University and the Phenikaa Innovation Foundation, we aim to create an environment for nurturing and developing talent, encouraging creativity, and pursuing and realizing unique ideas of scientists and startups, to further contribute to building Vietnam’s internal strength.”

A signing ceremony was also held at the launch for an MoU between the office of State-level key programs at the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Phenikaa Group, to improve scientific capacity and efficiency and technology related to Industry 4.0 for the cause of Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization. Aiming to provide international-standard teaching, the group has signed a comprehensive education cooperation agreement with the US-based Andrews University.

The partnership will provide learning opportunities through internationally-certified training curriculum in the majors of business administration, nursing, and aviation technologies. They will also work on joint research on business administration training, develop teacher training programs, and a training curriculum for Phenikaa’s inter-level international school.

The Phenikaa University was formerly known as Thanh Tay University and became a member of the group in 2017. It has an area of nearly 14 ha in Yen Nghia ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi.

After nine years of development, the Phenikaa Group, with the core businesses of industrial production and ecological materials, expands its investment into education and training with the official launch of Phenikaa University. Operating in a non-profit form, the university receives comprehensive sponsorship from the Phenikaa Group. All revenue from activities and grants of the university will be reinvested into its development.
