EU nations still welcome overseas students amid Covid-19

The Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam and its Member States have just held the Study in Europe Education Fairs 2020 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to promote information to local students who wish to study in Europe.

At the events held on December 12 and 13, Vietnamese students and their families were provided with information about the education systems, the culture, traditions and attractions of some European countries.

Visitors could find detailed information and consult with country representatives at the information booths of the attending countries including Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.


Speaking at the fair held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 13, vice head of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, Axelle Nicaise, said that although the Covid-19 pandemic is still very complicated in Europe, they are still optimistic that the outbreak will be curbed. Meanwhile, education activities should be maintained uninterrupted.

"We're always ready to support students who want to study in Europe," she said.

More than 16,000 Vietnamese students have studied in Europe. 191 students have received full scholarships from the Erasmus+ Programme to study master courses in Europe In 2014-2020. In 2020, 41 Vietnamese students were awarded full scholarships to pursue joint masters degrees full-time at prestigious universities in Europe.
