The US Mission in Vietnam is seeking qualified candidates for the 2022 Fulbright Visiting Scholar-In-Residence Program in the field of Asian history.

The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program is a unique Fulbright Scholar Program that is driven by the goals of US institutions of higher education to enhance cross-cultural understanding on their campuses. Through the Scholar-in-Residence Program, US institutions host a scholar from outside of the United States to teach courses, assist in curriculum development, guest lecture in their area of expertise, develop study abroad/exchange partnerships and engage with the campus and within the local community. The Scholar-in-Residence works across departments and curricula to enhance or expand existing international programs, develop new world area studies programs, add an international dimension to existing coursework or provide an opportunity for US students to learn about a particular world region or country.

One qualified candidate will be placed at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for the full academic year 2022-2023. The Scholar-in-Residence will teach one course in Asian history in the Fall term and one course in Asian history in the Spring term. The Scholar-in-Residence will engage with the International Student Organization and the Islander Cultural Alliance as well as address the campus during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. The Scholar-in-Residence will also participate in community events at the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center, located in town, and will have opportunities to address other area colleges.

The deadline of application submission is 5:00 p.m., March 20, 2022 Vietnam time.
