Hundreds of parents queue through the night to register their students to the Marie Curie Primary School in Hanoi on February 24.

The Marie Curie Primary School in Nam Tu Liem District distributed registration forms for 1st grade students for the 2023-2024 school year today, February 25. However, anticipating the high demand, hundreds of parents started to queue at the school since Friday afternoon to get the form.

According to an announcement from the school, they would distribute 360 registration forms this year. Successful registrators will participate in a day at school and the school will choose 180 best performers for the new school year.

A woman, Bui Thi Phuong Thao, said that she came to the school from 2pm on Friday to wait for the registration and was the first to get a form.

Nguyen Thi Xuyen, 58, and her husband came to the school at 7pm on Friday to help their daughter-in-law queue for the form to register their 6-year-old grandson to the school. Their daughter-in-law waited here from the afternoon and needed to go home and take some rest.

"We like this school and it is also near our house so we'll try to send our grandson to study here," Xuyen said.

Arriving at the queue at 7.30pm, another parent, Nguyen Thi Hoa, saw that the 300th form had been given out.

"I'm not sure I can have a place but I'll still wait until the last form is distributed," Hoa said.

Those who successfully got the registration forms continued to wait to enrol their children at the school early on Saturday morning.

Marie Curie School is a private school in Hanoi which has become popular among local parents and students thanks to their good facilities and quality training.
