On June 5, five days ahead of the exams, many students and their parents came to the Vietnam's first university with offerings to pray for good luck.

This is a common activity practised by local students and parents before an important exam.

According to the students, this helps them relax and have more confidence before their test.

Nguyen Ngoc Han from Hoai Duc District said that she was a bit worried about the exam as she was not good at literature. She came here to pray for luck so that she could pass the entrance exam to a local high school. 

Pham Ha Thanh from Thanh Xuan District said that he had prepared well for the exam but was a bit nervous. "I just want to relax before my exam," he said.

Students also seek calligraphic blessings for luck.
