Dredged mud to be dumped off Quang Ngai

Authorities of the central province of Quang Ngai have allowed the Northern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation to dump around 62,000 cubic metres of mud and sand into the sea.

The mud has been dredged from the area of Sa Ky Port in Tinh Khe Commune.

The dumped area is 4.97ha. Two ships and six barges will carry out the work in March next year.

The Northern Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation has been asked to ensure environmental regulations for the dredging and dumping, with toxic waste banned from being dumped.
