Hanoi has set a target to plant around 400,000 trees in the city’s urban areas

According to the plan, some 400,000 trees will be grown on streets in the city’s urban areas, including 150,000 to be planted on the upcoming Tet Holiday.

Under the instruction by the city people’s committee, localities need to select trees which are suitable for Hanoi’s climate condition and have to ensure technical requirements for planation to avoid waste.

The city has also aimed to plant 70 hectares of forests and boosted the forest management and protection in the year.

Over the past three years, the city has planted one million trees at a cost of VND256bn (USD11 million).
