Yen Tu Pagoda Festival started on February 14, attracting many visitors.
Environmental workers have to work very hard to deal with a large amount of rubbish.
Trieu Thi Minh, one of the workers, said that in the festival season, she has to work from 5 am until 5 pm at peak time. Her working hour even lasts until 7-8 pm at weekend. Despite the hard work, she only receives the daily payment of VND275,000 (USD11.95).
The workers often have to travel through stone mountains and high slopes to carry rubbish.
It is very dangerous to bring rubbish from the peak of Dong Pagoda to the ground, particularly when it is rainy and smoggy.
The workers hope that visitors have better awareness in environmental protection to ease the work for them.
