Heat wave hits three regions with temperature over 40C

Heat wave has spread accross three regions of Vietnam since April 18, with highest temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius. In particular, some places in the North and Central Vietnam recorded highest temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius while the Southern region sawthundershowers in the evening and at night.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, hot weather will expand to the Northwest and the Central provinces from April 19,with highest temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius.


The mountainous areas of Central provinces will see high temperatures of 38-39 degrees Celsius, even over 40 degrees in some places. Meanwhile, partial hot weather occurred in the Northern midland and delta provinces,with temperatures of 34-35 degrees Celsius, and hot weather will cover the entire area from April 19, with common temperatures of 34-37 degrees Celsius.

The capital city of Hanoi is anticipated to see highest temperatures of 34-37 degrees Celsius on April 19.

The wide-spread heat wave in the Northern and Central provinces is expected to last until April 22 and last longerin the Northwest, the western mountainous areas of ​​the North Central region, and Central and South-Central provinces.

South Vietnam will face hot weather until April 24, withhighest temperatures of 35-36 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City recorded highest temperatures of 34-37 degrees Celsius on April 18.
