Mud dumping off Quy Nhon coast proposed

The mud was from Quy Nhon Port dredging and mainly includes alluvium flowing from Thi Nai Lagoon.

According to Vinamarine, dredging at Quy Nhon Port is carried out on a yearly basis to ensure that large ships can dock safely.

Tung added that local authorities asked Vinamarine to report a plan on the dumping as well as the work’s environmental impact before deciding the specific amount would be dumped.

Earlier, Vinamarine also recommended dumping 400,000 cubic metres of mud off Quy Nhon.
