The move followed the recent clean-up call from the management board of Son Tra Peninsular and Da Nang Tourism Beach Management Board for the campaign through Faceboook.
Many foreigners have collected rubbish together on Bai Nam Beach in Da Nang
Over the past month, many people have spent part of their weekend cleaning Bai Nam Beach on Son Tra Peninsular. This has also been supported by lots of foreigners.
Isis Mok, a member of a voluntary group named Da Nang Go, said that after the call on Facebook, the group encouraged its members to take part in the campaign. Participants prepared gloves and second-hand bags for the litter collection by themselves.
"This not only helps environmental protection but also creates the opportunity for members to meet new people,” Isis Mok added.
Da Nang Go is a group of foreigners who live and work in Da Nang. The team has organised many programmes on environmental protection and Agent Orange-affected children.
The group has planned to continue joining the campaign in the years to come. They have also helped raise funds to grow one million trees for Danang.
This year, the activity started in late March, attracting hundreds of volunteers who clean beaches at the weekend or during holidays.
Le Ngoc Anh, a second-year student from Duy Tan University, said that she is quite surprised to see the active participation of many foreigners.
