The Vietnamese Youth and Students Association (VYSA) held a charity concert in Japan on November 4.

In her opening speech, the VYSA President Nguyen Thi Thu Hong said this was the fourth concert to raise money for the VYSA Golden Heart Fund in support of Vietnamese youth and students in Japan and poor pupils at home.

The Chairman of the VYSA Golden Heart Fund, Hoang Thanh Duong, said the fund has conducted a wide range of activities to support Vietnamese people in difficult circumstances, including victims of recent natural disasters in central Vietnam and tsunami and earthquake in Japan.

All proceeds from the concert will be used to grant scholarships for poor and outstanding pupils in Vietnam and for a “meal with meat” program.

The VYSA’s charity concert has been held since 2009. The first and second ones provided relief aid for flood victims and scholarships for poor students in Vietnam and the third one for tsunami and earthquake victims in Japan.
