Fundraising for Christmas charity programme

The Tu Tam club, a group of young people in Hanoi, are raising funds for their Christmas charity programme in Ba Vi District.

The programme Lighting up the Christmas Flame will be carried out at Thuy An Centre for Disabled Children and the Elderly in Thuy An Commune, Ba Vi District with the participation of up to 50 people.

The programme is estimated to need around VND18.3 million (USD877.3) with VND5 million (USD239.7) coming from Tu Tam and the rest from donations by individuals and organisations nationwide.

Under the programme, participants will prepare vegetarian meals for people at the centre. They will also donate four boxes of formula powered milk to children with cerebral-palsy and gifts to 180 elderly people.

The centre houses 160 lonely elderly people and 130 disabled and abandoned children aged from two to 16, 560 people with mental disorder and 25 children with cerebral-palsy.
