The family of a five-month old baby is calling for help to save their son who has been struggling with congenital heart disease.

 Bach had heart surgery at one month old

Vu Xuan Bach is from Tay Hanh Quan Village, Nam Dinh Province. It is said that Bach's breathing became hard just 20 days after birth. After being diagnosed with a complex congenital heart defect at one month old, he was transferred to Hanoi Heart Hospital for emergency surgery.

Her mother, Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet, was shocked and left everything behind to take care of him in the hospital despite her family being poor farmers. They had to borrow money on the black market for the surgery.

Unfortunately, the surgery couldn't cure Bach completely. He suffers from heart failure and depends solely on equipment to live.

Dr Ngo Chi Hieu, head of Recovery Department from Hanoi Heart Hospital said Bach has used the breathing machines for over a month though he is just five months old. Moreover, he needs costly medicines. Currently, the boy is still being monitored for emergency cases.

His mother stays in hospital to take care of him 

Nguyet said, "Please help our child. We thought the money borrowed from the black market would enough but our child is suffering still. I'm at the end of my tether."

The unaware boy sleeps on with various kinds of tubes surrounding him.
