A poor man in Nghe An Province is in desperate need of financial help to support his three small children after his wife passed away five days after giving birth to twins.

The twins lost their mother when they are just five days old

Nguyen Viet Manh, 29, lived in Nghe An Province with his wife Le Thi Oanh until she died of a heart attack just five days giving birth to twins. The twins are also in ill health. The eldest boy is about three years old, and cannot understand where his mother went.

The couple got married for four years ago. Oanh worked as a teacher at a local preschool on a low salary. Manh does not have a stable job, so their family’s financial situation is very difficult.

Although Manh’s heath condition is not good, he tries to work, and accepts any odd jobs that come his way.

Early this year, Manh was very happy to find out that his wife was pregnant, and tried to work more to help support the growing family.

Early in September, Oanh gave birth to the twins at a local hospital. One weighed 2.1kg and the other 1.9kg. But what Manh pictured for the family changed drastically when Oanh died so soon after childbirth.

Vo Thi Thuy An, Headmaster of the nursery school where Oanh worked, said that the teachers sent a petition to the district Department of Education and Training asking for financial support for Oanh’s family.
