Readers of DTiNews have donated more than VND137m to a 10-year-old boy in Hanoi's Thanh Oai District to help pay medical bills for treatment of his lymphoma and leukemia.

Son's mother said many people have called to ask about Son's illnesses and gave them encouragement.

Representative of DTiNews sent VND137,010,000 donated by readers to Son's family.

"I want to thank everyone who cares for us," Son's mother said. "Without your help, I might have lost him forever. I'll be grateful for the rest of my life."

Son was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2011 and needed urgent surgery. Son's parents borrowed everywhere to raise VND200m. But three years later, Son had a fever, nose bleed and bleeding under the skin. Doctors diagnosed leukemia.

"We have nothing of value left to sell," Son's mother said.

Son was transferred from the National Hospital of Pediatrics to the Central Hematology and Blood Transfusion Institute, but he had to return home, in great pain, after the family ran out of money, even after selling their blood, and their debts continued to mount.
