DTiNews has transferred nearly VND160m donated by readers to four people in difficulties in Nghe An Province.

On March 28, DTiNews gave VND19,430,000 to Nguyen Van Son, a man who has to carry a huge tumour in Ky Son Commune.

Son said the tumour appeared on his buttocks and left thigh several years ago and got bigger with time. The tumour weighs 40kg and makes it difficult for him to walk. Son's parents have sold almost everything they have to pay for his treatment.

Doctors said Son has edema but they are reluctant to operate because of the high risk.

On receiving the donation, Son said, "I'm really grateful. Thanks to everyone's encouragement, I'm able to overcome my illness and myself. I'll try to find a job to help my parents."

Son is learning to be a tailor at a vocational school for disabled people in Hanoi.

On March 31, representatives of DTiNews transferred a donation of VND70,240,000 to two orphan children in My Thanh Commune.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Van Sang lost their father in a traffic accident. Five years later, their mother died from cancer. Anh is now living with her uncle, while Sang lives with their grandparents. Because their relatives are also poor, Anh and Sang often collect scraps and try to catch fish to support the family.

On April 1, VND44,240,00 was transferred to Nguyen Thi Linh, a three-year-old girl suffering from optic atrophy in Thanh Yen Commune.

Doctors said the congenital illness could not completely be cured. Linh was advised to go to hospital every six months for check-ups. However, the family is VND20m in debt and cannot afford further hospital treatment.

Nguyen Canh Cao, chairman of Thanh Yen People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to DTiNews readers who helped disadvantaged cases in the area.

DTiNews and Ha Van Thai, vice chairman of Thanh Thuy Commune People's Committee, visited and gave VND25,850,000 to Dang Thi Binh, who is struggling to raise three small children after losing her husband and one of her children in a traffic accident.
