VND15 billion for disadvantaged children in Action Month

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) has carried out diverse activities with a total funding of nearly VND15 billion to help disadvantaged children from every corner of the country. 


The activities aim to respond to Action Month for Children which will begin on June 1. State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan will meet representatives of disadvantaged children,and present awards to those who distinguished themselves in learning.

The NFVC will co-ordinate with localities to mobilize every resources to support children in special difficulties. The Fund will focus on implementing the  Operation Smile programme in Hanoi, HCM City and An Giang province. It will provide free check-ups and surgeries for 390 children from 20 provinces and cities with a total funding of VND1.1 billion.

The NFVC will also cooperate with provincial hospitals to support children with congenital heart diseases with screening tests and surgeries in June.

This year, the NFVC is expected to support 6,000 specially underpriviledged children nationwide with a total funding of VND76 billion.
