A boy in Ha Tinh Province whose father died now has to take care of his mother who is facing death due to heart failure.

Hoang Thi Phi Nga, 43, is at Ha Tinh General Hospital. She said her husband died in a traffic accident several years ago, leaving her and their two children behind with numerous difficulties.

She has been suffering the heart disease for years, with her eldest child, Do Viet Hung, in Grade 7, having to assume the responsibility of running their household and caring for her.

Hung stays up late to take water to his mother and massage her. He feeds her when she is in too much pain.

Patients who share the same room with his mother give the boy some money so he can buy food for her. He gets by on lunch to save money for his mother's treatment.

Relatives came to the hospital to give them VND7.2m, but the cost of her medical treatment is expensive. Nga wants to stop treatment to save the money for her children.
