"Education is the right of every child. It should be free and fair, with equal access for girls and boys," says Miss Perry.
“I am grateful to UNICEF for giving me the opportunity to see first-hand how its programmes make a real difference in children’s lives. Support for UNICEF is saving children. I am a witness to it.”
She says the role of UNICEF in children’s education is built upon the strong commitment to ensure that all children – regardless of gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic background or circumstances – realize their right to a quality education.
During her visit, Miss Perry will visit some UNICEF projects in Ninh Thuan Province where schoolhouses are under construction in poorer districts and get an up-close first-hand view of the full range of the agency’s programmes, from education and nutrition to sanitation and hygiene in Vietnam.
