Dantri/DTiNews readers have donated nearly VND272 million (USD12,952) to a 10-year old boy in Hanoi's Soc Son who has been living with blood disorders since he was born.

After being born, the left leg of Nguyen Quang Dong was bigger than his right and gradually later, his left leg began swelling. Taken to hospital, he was diagnosed with vascular malformation.

The boy has had four operations, however, the condition has not improved. He has often suffered from bleeding in the left leg, causing him great pain.

Over the past 10 years, his parents have been seeking to borrow money from different sources for the hospital fees. They have now incurred a huge debt and are totally powerless to save their son.

At present, Dong is being given with treatment at Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi.

After an article about the boy's condition was posted on Dantri/DTiNews, many readers have donated money through the newspaper's Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund to support the boy.

On September 5, Dantri/DTiNews officer manager Pham Huy Than granted USD12,952 to his parents.
