A poor woman in the central province of Nghe An who lost both her husband and son in a recent traffic accident is now also facing the death risk.

Lu Thi Xuan Yen in Quy Chau District is now staying at Bach Mai Hospital for treatment on a carotid–cavernous fistula and aneurysm. Doctors said that Yen could face death if she is not given timely treatment.

Doctor Tran Anh Tuan from Bach Mai Hospital said that Yen’s condition is very critical and despite having a health insurance card, the complicated treatment she requires would cost around VND200-250 million (USD9,523-11,900).

The ailing woman spoke to DTiNews reporter about her family’s tragic story four months ago. On that day, her husband took her and two children to their friend’s house. Unluckily, he crashed into a car which was going in the opposite direction. As a result, her husband and her 6-month-old son died right on the spot, while she and the two-year old girl was knocked unconscious.

When reviving, Yen found herself and her daughter at the hospital and was really shocked to know that her husband and her son had died. She couldn’t believe that she lost the beloved in a matter of seconds.

Doctors said that she now needs intensive treatment for survival so that she can return home to take care of her little daughter.
