Dantri/DTiNews and the Vietnam Maritime Administration's Trade Union office have provided gifts for many families from Chut ethnic minority group in the central province of Ha Tinh.

The gifts including VND20 million (USD900) and 400 sets of clothes were provided to 41 Chu ethnic minority households in Rao Tre Village, Huong Khe District before Tet Holiday.

Chut people happy with the gifts

They mainly only stayed at home and mostly did not work to ensure their life, so they had to live on the state’s support, even for rice and other essential things. The community also suffered from a tradition of interbreeding marriage.

However, in recent years, thanks to the special care from the state and the assistance from border guards in Ha Tinh Province, Chut people in the village have been provided with clean water and electricity. Many new roads to the village have also been built. Many households have cultivated rice and raised poultry, improving their living conditions.
