A group of young people in Hanoi have set up two booths to receive and offer free second-hand clothes to poor people.

The booths are open round the clock. Without a store to keep the donated things, the group members have to bring the items home and then carry them back to the booth every day.

One of the booths is located at 97 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street which has got a large number of donated clothes, footwear and toys over recent days and many poor people have also come to take what they need.

The booth on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street is quite small, so, many clothes have to be put outside.

The Free for the Poor booth has been organised by a group of young people in Hanoi.

Hoang Thi Xuan, one of the group’s members, said that many people may feel to be afraid of being given clothes although they are in need. So, putting the booth here may help them to feel less uncomfortable about taking the clothes.

Another booth is at 14 Quan Su Street.

According to the group, just several days after the booth is put on Quan Su Street, lots of people come to give their clothes and toys, including new sets of clothes.

Most of people who take the things are the homeless, vendors and poor people.
