Young man faces hardship after mentally-ill father killed his mother
Bui Kim Hung is a student at the National University of Civil Engineering but he may have to drop out to take care of his young brother after his mentally-ill father killed both his mother and grandmother.
The incident at Hung's family in Luu Xa Village, Hung Yen Province took place three months ago. "My mind is so confused after my mother died and my father was admitted to mental hospital. All the burdens were put on my mother and she never complained. I wasn’t able to repay her when she died," Hung said.
Hung's father was mentally ill 10 years ago. Hung's mother borrowed money from everywhere for the treatment and the two children's tuition. Hung's father was released after doctors said his condition had got better.
Bui Kim Binh, Hung's paternal grandfather, said, "We don't mention the incident anymore. But we're getting older. What'll happen to our grandchildren now? Hung once told me he wanted to drop out of university to raise his brother but I told him I could take care of them as long as I live. That's the only way to ease his mother's soul."
Binh is a veteran and his family only depend on his monthly allowance of VND1.7m.

In January, Hung's father suddenly killed both his wife and mother-in-law and severely injured his father-in-law.
